Current Challenges:
As it stands, our preparedness for future pandemics is compromised by a lack of comprehensive data and a limited statistical understanding of existing pandemics like COVID-19. Current healthcare practices often assess patient risk based only on immediate symptoms, which may evolve rapidly. Factors known to increase risk—such as age and comorbidities—lack precise, quantifiable impact assessments. Similarly, while vaccines are recognized for reducing disease severity, the specific effectiveness of each dose across different age groups and durations remains unclear. Available data, including from sources like Israel and the UK, remains insufficiently comprehensive.
The Need for High-Quality Research:
The quality of retrospective pandemic research is hindered by inadequate control groups that fail to represent the broader national or global populations, often leading to reliance on manual data analysis methods like Microsoft Excel.
Our Solution:
PCDDE offers a vital tool for the triage and management of patients testing positive for viruses like COVID-19, enabling enhanced monitoring and timely hospitalization for those at greatest risk. With our vast database and cutting-edge software, we can precisely determine the risk for each new patient upon admission and assess the impact of individual risk factors comprehensively.
